Goldcrest

Each time I walk down the east side of the river between Merryton and Bailey bridges over the past few days I have had the pleasure of spotting this lovely Goldcrest.  This is Britains smallest bird and can be seen in gardens and trees around Nairn.  It mainly frequents pine trees and flits around the branches, non stop, feeding around the needles.

It took me over 30 minutes to manage to get this one in my lense and in focus - leaving me with a sore neck for days!

On the same day I managed to catch this photo of the beautiful Song Thrush down on the links. We should hear the Song Thrush song filling the air in the next month or so - listen out for the repetive notes of its song, a real sign that spring isn't far away!
